Cambodia is located in Southeast Asia between Vietnam and Thailand. I’ve been there December of 2016 and had a memorable time. If you wanna visit the country, it’s better to do it between November and February when the weather is really nice and cosy.
I have listed 3 things that you MUST do when you visit Cambodia (Siem Reap).
1. SEE THE AMAZING ANGKOR WAT
Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument in the world. It is located in Siem Reap province and is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It is the main reason why tourists visit the country. At the time of my visit, the ticket can be purchased from a completely different place away from the site. Tuk-tuk drivers know exactly where to buy them. Ticket price was 20 USD for 1 day when I visited. They will take a photo of you and put it on the ticket itself which I think is really cool.
2. ENJOY AT THE PUB STREET
Pub Street is the best place in Cambodia for an awesome nightlife. You can grab their local beer and have some amazing food. They only accept US dollars (based on my experience). A cocktail costs you 1.5 USD while 1 USD for a glass of beer. Crocodile burger is a MUST TRY. You can also try the fish spa on the side.
3. GIVE BACK WHILE DOING A QUAD RIDE
I have booked a Quad Ride through Quad Adventure Cambodia. It was a half day quad ride and cost 105 USD. They will pick you up from your hotel and will drop you back afterwards. We drove through local villages. The roads aren’t concrete so make sure you wear long sleeves and pants since it would be very dusty. It was the most memorable part of my Cambodia trip. We bought 2 big boxes of food. We we’re supposed to bring it to a school but we found out that it was closed that day. We then decided to give them to children that we will meet along the way. That feeling when you hand those food to those children is the most fulfilling thing ever. You’ll know how happy they are on by the smile on their faces. THIS IS A MUST DO!
