DIY: How To Spend 5 Days In Bali, Indonesia

Posted on Posted in Asia, Guest Posts, Indonesia

Bali is definitely one of my dream destinations. I’ve been spending some time researching, reading and looking at everybody’s photos in Bali and I think it’s about time to share mine.

I had arranged a tour-car beforehand, a rented car for a 10-hour trip across Bali, Indonesia. Rates depend on how far the location would be and that already includes the parking fees.  Almost all tour-cars are Toyota Avanza which could carry up to 7 people.

TIPS:

1. Better bring USD then have It changed at the airport.
2. Get small amount of bills since most stores won’t give you change from 10K=38Php below; better pay in exact amount.
3. There are no public transportation in Bali (rent a car or rent a scooter).
4. Uber, Grab, Gojek ares not allowed in Ubud & some parts of Kuta. Should be discreet in booking this as some taxi drivers are bullies.
5. Always be on time, ferry leaves on time and won’t mind leaving late passengers behind.
6. Bring your adapters (they have round hole socket).
7. Basically in all restaurants, meal ranges from 35k-70k IDR per meal; menu and can go higher for western food.
8. There are no service water, you need to pay for it.
9. Local simcard (simpati) costs around USD10.00 with atleast 7GB data for a week. Don’t buy at the airport it costs 3x more expensive (buy outside or ask your tour guide to get one for you).
11. Souvenirs are cheapest at the local market or stalls inside temple compared to outlets in the city. Don’t be shy to haggle for the price as it could go down to 40% off.
10. You can have the cheapest flight from Cebu Pacific (on-sale) at Php 2,000.00/way (for people who are travelling from the Philippines).

This trip had cost us not more than Php 25,000.00 per pax (for group of two) including airfare-food-accomodation-tour-souvenirs.
